Win consecutive games to build a streak. The Stats icon transforms into a tier emoji as your streak grows:
A loss anywhere resets the streak. Practice games don't affect it. Achievements unlock as one-time milestones and are listed in the Stats modal.
When a game ends, the Stats modal shows a recap card with the answer, your trajectory (how many candidates remained after each guess), and lookup links for the word.
More word fits — toggle near the "Still fitting your clues" line. Expands a per-step breakdown showing up to 52 candidate words that fit after each guess, ordered by tier (most common first).
Emoji Grid — collapsible section near the bottom. Tap Copy in the summary row to copy the share text instantly, or expand to preview what gets copied first.
Provenance — every word carries a category (English word, given name, surname, place, etc.) and a row of lookup buttons (Wiktionary, Merriam-Webster, Wikipedia, Google, plus category-specific extras like Behind the Name, Forebears, Google Maps).
Each game has a 5-character seed shown in the footer ("Current seed"). You can enter your own ("Enter seed"). "Today's word" gives a specific word for the current mode chosen based on the numbers of today's date.
Settings → Generate seed from a word makes a seed for any specific word in the chosen pool.
Seeds from older versions of Caudal still work; pasting one silently updates to the v4 format.
The first 14,855 words — everything from Baby through Crazy — come from the curated NYT-compatible word list maintained by tabatkins (github.com/tabatkins/wordle-list).
Insane mode adds another ~30,855 words drawn from supplemental sources:
After each game, the recap shows where the answer came from with links to relevant lookup databases (Wiktionary, Merriam-Webster, Wikipedia, Google, plus category-specific extras like Behind the Name, Forebears, Google Maps).
